A mobile rugged printer is an ideal tool in demanding environments such as industrial, retail and field operations, for recording/printing inventory receipts, invoices and labels. A well designed rugged mobile printer should be easy to mount in a vehicle, on a belt or on a shoulder strap. It should also be weather and temperature resistant, fast and simple to use, and economical. Mobile rugged printers can be either a stand-alone or compatible with a PC and other mobile devices. This article focuses on 4-inch rugged mobile printers, most of which can print 2-inch to 4-inch output.
Repair estimates, work orders, maintenance and service reports, and chemical data sheets are just a few uses for rugged mobile printers. Industries that can benefit from this technology include, but are not limited to, HVAC, home repair, equipment repair, IT services, utilities, pest management and even law enforcement.
